One Answer, And A Request...

To AirmanMom and anyone else who wants to send me books. I would love any of the classics. Shakespeare, Twain, Dostoevsky, or any of those books. Particularly Henry V. But any books would be great, if I don't read them someone will.

Secondly, I would like to ask all of you to send me your questions. Ask me about the Army, Afghanistan, deployment, or whatever you want. The more the better. I WILL answer them all.

Thanks

Later,

I love you mom...

  1. mudpuppy...consider it done! I will have a box together for you by the end of the week.

    Questions??? I always have questions...
What is the morale of your unit?
Is there a particular smell which will always remind you of this deployment?
Would you do it again, if you could go back to day one?

  2. Looks like I'll be on my way there next summer. Not sure where, Camp Dubs maybe. Do you work with many Air Force members?

    Thanks,

  3. Questions?! Why, questions are a mom's middle name! If you were President, what would you do? Are you getting much news about the USA, Israeli war, etc? Do you blog from a computer lab? I am trying to picture it. Can you describe what your bunk/room/facilities look like? Did you finally get enough warm clothing?

My dear husband was in the Army in 1974-1982, and he is convinced we are not using women in combat. Please describe whatall the women soldiers do? And have you been able to convince the women under your command to save themselves? (a post a while back you talked about that challenge and they sounded rather skanky)

Does every day feel like the same? Have you felt an earthquake?

  4. mudpuppy,

I will be glad to send you a book or two. Now I have some catching up to do here.

Stay safe, my friend. Praying for you.

    Blessings,

  5. joyce - why are the women skanky? what about the guys? shouldn't they also be "saving themselves"? perhaps you could not judge the women soldiers and appreciate them the same as you do the men.

Sorry Mudpuppy. I am probably not using very good "comment manners". I truly appreciate your blog and your honesty.
    take very good care,

  6. I have a question for you...you are deployed with my brother who doesn't like to seek out information for me. I am currently living in England and cannot use the address that my mom has to send things out to you guys. Would you happen to know a way that I can send things directly to him without haveing to ship them home to be shipped to him (seems dumb that way...). Tell him I say hello!

  7. What's your rating scale for women? How many guys cheat on their wives? How many to a room? Are the port-a-johns heated? Is there a library there with books & dvds? How many AF members with you army guys at the FOB? Is the food good? Thanks for all you do. Enjoy your posts, immensely.

  8. Memory prompts me to ask, how's the old intestines? or are you guys living on lomotil?

Does the moutains etc eat the tires on your trucks?

And most of all, 7.62 or 5.56, which is best for where you're at?

  9. Hmm.... interesting questions but I thought I would ask.... do they still have someone that 'burns the shitters' ?

My old boss was an MP who got deployed over there and said the smell was terrible. Just curious to know how good (or bad) the living conditions are.
