Having said that I and his mother when she alive saw a little gleem of pride in his eyes when he pinned it on his uniform. Yes, he cussed a little bit trying to make sure it was 1/4 inch this way and 1/2 inch that way but a little pride none the less. Because of guys like you and him we sleep peacefully in our beds this night.

He doesn't talk about how he earned it and I suspect neither will you. That is the sign of a true warrior.

God Bless and keep you butt close to the ground and your helmet on!

PopsABNPOPPAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13790538722982753032noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8255889363485225211.post-76723193263581563952009-06-16T10:35:04.654-05:002009-06-16T10:35:04.654-05:00Besides what Coffeypot said, just think of all tho...Besides what Coffeypot said, just think of all those 'fobbits' that were in a war zone, yet didn't see the war...

And that's what makes that CAB so special. You were in the *shit* when they weren't.

Now stay safe!!K-Dubyahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11521926527381863273noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8255889363485225211.post-28116589363577117462009-06-16T09:07:35.024-05:002009-06-16T09:07:35.024-05:00Damnit Coffeypot, I hate it when people give me op...Damnit Coffeypot, I hate it when people give me opposing points of view. Most men will never know the emotions and experiences you have faced, and many men wonder if they would have responded in their time of need. I am proud for you, for you have experienced and seen things no one should have to go through. You are a changed man, but if you really examine yourself, you will see that you are changed for the better. Wearing the CAB (it use to be the CIB for Combat Infantry Badge) and bragging about it means you not only have faced the enemy under fire, but you are here to talk about it. That’s a good thing. Have and keep your inner pride, but don’t belittle those who have a different value system. I’ll shut up now.Coffeypothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08601474604616163167noreply@blogger.com
