Just A Little Footnote...

Hello all, I know that a lot of you are pissed about the last post. I wish to make a few things clear. This blog is meant to be therapeutic for me. Being able to vent about things that happen here is my goal. I do NOT want anyone to actually do anything or call anyone regarding anything that I write.

I understand that there are a million things that are going on in the military that I know nothing about that affect whether or not things happen. We are getting our winter gear sooner or later, whenever the military is able to get it for us.

I like my pay grade and would like to keep it. So please don't pursue any actions regarding my posts. I mean them as information for you and therapy for me. The best thing you can do is read and comment and let me know you care. The military would probably let me have it pretty good if someone called their congressman about all of this.

Thanks and keep on reading...

My apologies for the somber tone. I usually like to spice it up with sarcasm but here I guess I can't.

Later,

I love you mom...

  1. Dearest Mud Puppy:

You are correct on multiple points:

This blog is about you - not us.
The American GI as resilient and at times downright ingenious!
There are good people in that hell hole of a place - they've just been dominated by a group of people (Taliban) that are very evil, totally, deeply evil. And on top of that they have a religion that kind of condones treating women in a very bad way. Maybe with your help they can find their way back to some sort of civil society.

I am sure no one will call their congressman - but it shows people care for you :). And you are not reporting anything new about Afghanistan - it's just new for you - so we should take it as such. I appreciate your candidness

Now, I will say again. From this girl/woman/female: THANK YOU - THANK YOU and THANK YOU! to you and your colleagues for keeping me out of a burka and allowing me to be free - truly free to drive a car, to go to school, and yes, to do stupid things. Thank you for my nieces too - that they can go to school without fear.

God bless you and keep you - you are in my prayers. Now go have a skittle or a chocolate sunflower seed ;p (Kinda small box huh?)

  2. Well Mud Puppy,

Sometimes we read something that just gets our dander up, and we want to make sure that Our Guys are being taken care of. Sorta like a Momma Bear and her cubs.

But if you insist on us not doing anything, then so be it.

And now you know that there are lots and lots of people who care!
    Aren't you glad?

Now, Take care and keep letting us know how the Suck is embracing you and the rest of the guys...

  5. Wow--we can call our congressmen and just not say who you are. It is just not right that you do not have your winter gear. The mother hen in me rises up.
