My buddy Tommy, who slept right next to me for the majority of my time in Afghanistan had himself a little brother.
2 years ago his little brother died.
After a long battle with disease.
After his brother passed, Tommy found this.
"What would you do?"
What would you do if it all ended tomorrow?
Time running out, ain't no more you can borrow,
so many paths which one you gonna follow?
What would you do, What would you do?
Take a second look at your life,
all the mistakes you could have made right.
Life is short as your walkin away,
get your calendar out mark down the day.
To everybody your runnin up the road with,
they're your family make sure they know this.
Fear nothin and take chances,
Don't be afraid to fail and always make advances.
So when you ride on the Grim reaper highway,
no regrets you did it your way.
What would you do if it all ended tomorrow?
Time running out, ain't no more you can borrow,
so many paths which one you gonna follow?
What would you do, What would you do?
Thanks Kevin.

I don't know. Many things come to mind, but if I am gonna be gone anyway, what does it matter? I'll just have to wait and see how it goes.
ReplyDeleteI lost my little bro too. It made me care about every day a lot more than I did before. You can't make other people care, but you you can love with all you have... and give life your best shot with the time you have left even if it likes to bite you in the ass every day. You may have an hour or 50 more years... life has some good stuff though, if you can survive the hurt. I think he'd want me to fight the bitter times for the good parts...
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you lost your bro too, Tommy. I know it hurts bad.
what I've learned: for those you love and care about, treat everyday like it's the last you may see them....just in case.
ReplyDeleteI hope you don't mind, but I nominated you for the best US Military Veteran Blog.
